Emirates hosted a magnificent preview event at The Portico Room, Melbourne Town Hall to showcase the exciting menu and entertainment on offer at this year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival. To celebrate the launch of daily flights to St Petersburg on Emirates Melbourne Cup day, the Marquee draws inspiration from the city’s majestic Catherine Palace.

·      An oversized Fabergé egg – a symbol of luxury throughout Russia has been custom made for the Emirates marquee. Weighing 50 kilograms and encrusted with over 300 polished resin cut diamonds it pays tribute to the masterpieces created by the renowned St Petersburg jewellery house.

·      Melbourne Symphony Orchestra String Quartet together with a Russian ballerina welcome guests to the event with classical Russian melodies.

·      Traditional Cossack dancers perform their entertaining knee-bending moves.

·      Winners and Losers stars Melissa Bergland and Zoe Tuckwell-Smith

The Scoop \\  Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - September 01, 2011: Stonnington Spring Fashion Runway 2011 is a celebration of Stonnington vibrant and worldclass fashion scene trough two key events - the Fashion Hall of Fame and Fashion Industry Forum.
The Stonnington Spring Fashion Runway is presented in the lead up to Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival to showcase Stonnington’s finest fashion designers and brands from High Street, Toorak Road, Chapel Street precinct and Toorak Village.
In addition to the spectacular runway show, the event saw two new members inducted into the Stonnington Fashion Hall of Fame _ Janice Breen Burns and Victoria Cascajo.
